Keqiang Li, Prime minister of state council of China, visited the lab

On April 10, 2015, Keqiang Li, Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee,Prime minister of state council of China, came to Jilin University for an inspection under Chaoliang Jiang, governor of Jilin Province. Keqiang Li visited the State Key Laboratory of Inorganic Synthesis and Preparative Chemistry. During his visit to the Key Laboratory of Inorganic Synthesis and Preparative Chemistry, Keqiang Li listened to the report made by Prof. Shouhua Feng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the lab, about the overall development of the lab. He also inspected the equipment of the lab, learned about the research directions and achievements, and interacted with the lab staff about their research work.

On April 15, 2010, Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of the NPC and member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, inspected the State Key Laboratory of Inorganic Synthesis and Preparative Chemistry at Jilin University. He first listened to the report of Prof. Bai Yang, dean of the College of Chemistry, about faculty, teaching, research, and international cooperation of the College of Chemistry, and then talked warmly with academician Ruren Xu, former deputy director of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of Jilin Province. He also listened to the report of Dewen Chen, party secretary of Jilin University, and Tao Zhan, president of Jilin University about the cultivation of talents in the chemistry discipline. During his visit to the labs, he interacted with Prof. Qisheng Huo, director of the State Key Laboratory of Inorganic Synthesis and Preparative Chemistry, who returned from the United States to work full-time in the lab. He also listened to the report of Prof. Xiaoyang Liu, who returned from Canada, about the scientific work carried out in his group. Wu Bangguo stressed the importance of basic research and commended the strength of the chemistry program at Jilin University.

On October 22, 2008, Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, came to Jilin University for an inspection under the accompany of Wang Min, Party chief of Jilin Province, and Han Changfu, governor of Jilin Province. Jia Qinglin visited the State Key Laboratory of Inorganic Synthesis and Preparative Chemistry, National Bioscience Experiment Teaching Demonstration Center, and Gallery of Jilin University History. During his visit to the Key Laboratory of Inorganic Synthesis and Preparative Chemistry, Jia Qinglin listened to the report made by Prof. Shouhua Feng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the lab, about the overall development of the lab. State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan visited the lab

On April 22, 2005, State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan came to Jilin University for an inspection, together with relevant leaders from the Ministry of Foreign Affaires and Li Jinbin, vice governor of Jilin Province. Zhou Qifeng, president of Jilin University, Wang Shoushi, Deputy Party Secretary, Zhang Fuliang, vice president, Qiu Shilun and several other officials from Jilin University accompanied the inspection.
Tang Jiaxuan first visited the Key Laboratory of Inorganic Synthesis and Preparative Chemistry. He nodded in agreement when academician Shouhua Feng introduced the lab’s high quality work published in Angewandte Chemie. He also showed interest in the advanced equipment of the lab and encouraged faculty and staff to make the best use of the advanced equipment to produce outstanding research work.
